Lecticalive for teachers

Coming in the Fall of 2017!

Lecticalive for Teachers is on its way! Right now, we're on target to launch a basic teacher interface in the Fall (in the northern hemisphere, that is). If you teach English-speaking students, we'll soon be inviting you to begin putting the very first DiscoTests (a set of assessments focused on reflective judgment/critical thinking) to work in your classroom. In the mean time, we invite you to learn more about the DiscoTest Initiative by exploring our site and its resources.

Free to K-12 teachers

Are you concerned that your students may not be developing the skills, attitudes, and habits of mind required for success in tomorrow's world? Would you like to understand more about how your students are thinking and growing?

Lecticalive for Teachers is designed to:

  • provide you with valuable information about students' learning needs, and
  • help you do an even better job supporting optimal learning and development,

—without increasing your workload.

It works by providing free access to sophisticated computer-scored formative assessments called DiscoTests—starting with the LRJA (a group of assessments focused on building skills for reflective judgment/critical thinking).

Learning for life

With Lecticalive for Teachers, you'll be able to...

  • trace students’ growth over time,
  • more precisely diagnose the learning needs of individual students,
  • see how the growth of your students compares to the growth of students in low-, average-, and high-performing schools, and
  • find out if your students are on a growth trajectory that's likely to produce college- and life-ready skills for thinking, learning, and relating by the end of grade 12.

You’ll also be provided with student reports packed with learning activities and resources that are designed specifically to engage and challenge individual students by targeting their "growth edge" or learning "sweet spot."

It's easy

Getting started with DiscoTests is easy. You don't need to learn anything new to begin experimenting. (We'll add specific instructions right here when the platform is ready!)

And with our teacher learning resources—including YouTube videos, webinars, and our upcoming MOOC—you'll quickly learn to use DiscoTests alongside Lectica's simple yet powerful learning model, VCoL+7, to help your students:

  • learn robustly (in a way that makes knowledge useable and “sticky”),
  • grow optimally (realize their full learning potential), and
  • retain (or rekindle) their inborn passion for learning.
